About Us

A Tarr Ltd was founded in 1958 and has supplied industrial machinery for almost fifty years.

Our interest in the foam, rubber and fibre industries dates from 1985 when we were invited to take over the UK and Ireland representation of Fecken-Kirfel GmbH, arguably manufacturers of the world's finest bandknife cutting machines, several hundred of which have been supplied into our market. Our direct expertise includes recommending and then specifying both single machines and complete cutting lines for specialised applications, installation, removal and re-erection, and of course ongoing spare parts supply, service and repairs. We co-operate intimately with Fecken-Kirfel and together have a formidable fund of knowledge and experience to aid our clients, be they large multi-national combines or local independent converters.

For many years A Tarr Ltd represented Spuhl of St Gallen in the UK and Ireland, but since 1993 we  have been agents for Remex mattress spring machines. Remex supply a full range of machines to make and assemble pocket, Bonnel and other specialised mattress springs into complete spring units. Remex are an innovative first quality, independently owned machinery manufacturer based  only 15 minutes drive from St Gallen in Switzerland.

A wide range of Withoft pulling in dogs and accessories are stocked by A Tarr Ltd in the UK. Our association with Withoft goes back even further than that with Fecken-Kirfel.
